• Remaining poppy seeds
• A pen

Place the rest of the poppy seeds in the envelope. Bless the envelope by chanting aloud:

    With these words, this spell is sealed. And so it is.

Now write the charm you have spoken on the envelope. Seal the envelope closed and place it in your wallet, behind your paper money. Your fortunes will begin to change as soon as the envelope is sealed.

Go to the front door and sprinkle salt on the threshold, then sweep it out of your house. Now sprinkle ground cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg on your threshold and sweep it into your home. Take a paper towel, scoop up the ground spices, and burn them on your altar in a fireproof dish. All clear now!

Conjuring Prosperity: Manifesting a Good Life

I learned very early in life that my fate was mine to guide, and that I could manifest my will through the tools of magic. When in a pinch,  I have used witchcraft to replenish the coffers.  I have also used prosperity spells to find a good home I could afford to rent, attract job opportunities, and help others in need. People have always marveled at what they perceive as my “good luck,” or suggested that I have a fleet of guardian angels behind my every move. But luck has nothing to do with it.

As soon as you approach your prosperity consciously, you will see that you have the power to choose abundance. When you increase your material wealth, you reduce the need to worry about such worldly matters or just getting by day to day. Then, you can move on to achieving true prosperity and abundance, expanding your mind through learning, pursuing your pleasures, spending time with family and friends, and enjoying your life.

The legacy of the pagan approach to prosperity is evident all around if you look with open eyes and ears. It is certainly no accident that paper money has ancient symbols! Every little child knows to look for four-leaf clovers for good luck. These types of “superstitions” are actually common-sense folk wisdom passed down through the centuries.

Every day is an opportunity for growth in every aspect of your life, and the level of your success is entirely up to you. Gather together

    * a photo of the friend in need or other symbol to represent that person

    * a small hand bell or chime

    * a vase of yellow flowers

    * a piece of paper and a pen

Take the photo of your friend or the symbol that represents him or her, for example a gift he or she has given, or even a business card, and place it on a pedestal or table. Surround it with a small hand bell or chime and a vase filled with one or more of these “flowers of fortune:” nasturtiums, golden poppies, daisies, yellow roses, or your friend’s favorite happy posy.

Take a piece of parchment and write your friend’s full name. Speak the following spell:

    On this earth and under these stars, I call upon the gods and goddesses to bring great help and good        fortune to ______ [your friend’s name].

Ring the bell or chime.

    In this air and through these waters, speed here in the name of _____.

Ring the bell or chime again.

    Through the fire and through the rain, bring aid, goodwill, and bright blessings to _____ now.

Ring the bell or chime again.

As a group, send the positive energy to your friend across the miles by saying, “We love you, ____”, and ring the bell vigorously one last time.

To Attract Blessings We Unite: A Full Moon Rite

Here is a beautifully simple way to attract money and blessings to you and your circle. Be sure to pass on some of the good fortune that has shone on you in order to keep the flow of abundance in circulation. This ritual is most effective performed at midnight on a full moon. This ritual is intended to be performed in a group, so you will need to gather together companions with whom you are spiritually in tune. Ask each of the participants to bring a green candle with their name scratched into the wax. Find the biggest green candle you can get and light it at the stroke of midnight.

Ask each ritualist to step forward and say their name, lighting their candle from the large one. Pray aloud:

Sardonyx

There is a saying about sardonyx that for whoever wears it “stupidity will be eliminated.” It is also reputed to be a cure for tumors and beneficial to bones. Edgar Cayce appreciated it as a means to gain greater self-control. Sardonyx makes speakers more eloquent. It is also a crystal to use if you are struggling with depression.

This type of quartz is a real eye-catcher; sardonyx is a layered form of chalcedony that usually appears as alternating stripes of white or black onyx in combination with reddish brown chalcedony, or sard. This is a very popular stone for carving into beads, cameos, and intaglios. Historically, women wore sardonyx to attract a faithful lover. Roman soldiers preferred sardonyx with the god of war, Mars, or the great hero Hercules carved into it for valor.

It is great for explorers and those engaged in uncovering new territories. This is a crystal business executives should wear. In addition to being smarter and tumor-free, you can also drive away evil spirits and keep dark sorcerers at bay with this handy crystal. Here is a curious bit of lore: Any woman who owns sardonyx but neglects to wear it will be lonely. On the other side, it brings conjugal bliss and good fortune.

Chrysoberyl

This under-known gem has two siblings, alexandrite and cat’s-eye, that have stolen all the attention away from the lovely but less showy green, yellow, and brown transparent type of chrysoberyl. The stone occurs in Canada, Norway, Australia, Ghana, Burma, the Ural Mountains in Russia, and the other gem havens of Sri Lanka and Brazil. It appears in rare instances as a cyclic crystal that looks to be hexagonal but is a triplet of three twins called a trilling.

Cousin cat’s-eye, also called cymophane, occurs in colorations ranging from honey gold to bright green. It usually comes in a domed cabochon shape. If intense light is shone in a cat’s-eye, one side will look milky and the other will remain golden; this is known as the milk-and-honey effect. The eye effect is the result of infinitesimal needle-like inclusions that refract light, creating a line of light that runs through the center. A handful of other stones, scapolite, spinel, quartz, tourmaline, and corundum, have a similar appearance as a result of those inclusions, but only chrysoberyl can be called just cat’s-eye; the others require the stone name in front of cat’s-eye. Cat’s-eye has been used to manifest destiny and direct fortune for centuries and makes an excellent talisman.

Healers prize chrysoberyl because it can double the power of other stones and reveal the causes of illness. It can assist with lowering high cholesterol and the hormonal surges of adrenaline. Chrysoberyl is a crystal used for compassion, forgiveness, and emotional release and has been called the stone of new beginnings. This is one of the few crystals that can enable one to see both sides of an issue and get over blocks and stubbornness. If you are harboring a grudge against a coworker or loved one, chrysoberyl will cut right through the old anger and help you to move on.

Sir Richard Burton always carried a star sapphire with him as a talisman while he traveled through Asia and the Middle East. According to Burton, the stone brought him excellent horses and ensured that he received attention right when he needed it. It does seem to have worked, as he is still receiving accolades and consideration long after his passing. A generous soul, he would show his star sapphire to the friendly folk who had helped him, since this gem is a giver of good luck.

Burning Away Bad Luck

The world can overwhelm us at times with problems relating to work, finances, and all manner of problems that get in the way and want to stay. But these problems are not beyond your control! The ultimate time to release bad luck is immediately after a full moon or any Friday the thirteenth.

If you have been on an unlucky streak, get yourself a big black candle, an obsidian sphere (or at least an obsidian crystal), a piece of white paper, a black ink pen, a cancellation stamp (readily available at any stationary store), and a big flat rock that is slightly concave in the center. Write on the paper what you wish to be freed from; this is your release request. Place the candle and the obsidian on the flat rock and light the candle near an open window so the negative energy will leave your home. While the candle burns, intone:

“Waxing moon, most wise Cybele,
From me this burden please dispel.
Upon this night so clear and bright
I release __ to the moon tonight.”

Bury the candle in your garden for thirteen minutes. Take your stamp and mark the paper “cancelled.” Put the candle out, fold the paper away from you, and place it under the flat stone. Repeat this process for twelve more nights (thirteen total). On the last night, which should ideally be the beginning of the new-moon phase, burn the paper and bury the candle, paper ashes, and flat rock far from your home. Give thanks to the moon for assisting you, and LET GO of bad luck.
