Lodestones

Stones, crystals, and gems are regarded as the purest form of the earth’s abundance. Whenever you get a new piece of jewelry with a stone or gem, or if you decorate your home or garden with rocks and pebbles, show gratitude for this gift from nature. Sprinkle thyme, marigold blossoms, and ground cinnamon on your garden path and your front doorstep. Also, burn this mix in your incense holder on your alter and chant:

Mother Nature, I thank you for the strength and bounty of your bones and stones. Your beauty is reflected now and forever.

Blessed be.

Orgasmic Oil

I use this potion as a combination body care oil and mystical massage oil. You will need:

  • 1 cup of sesame oil (you can cheat and get the sesame-scented oil from the pharmacy or grocery store, which works just as well in a pinch)
  • Clove, cinnamon, and ginger (powdered)
  • Bergamot, amber, and jasmine essential oils
  • Amber-colored jar
  • Magnetite

Take the sesame oil and add a pinch of each of the spices. Then add a drop of citrusy bergamot and a teaspoon each of the amber and jasmine oils.

Stir gently and then place in an amber-colored jar with a stopper. Place the jar beside a piece of magnetite, also known as lodestone, which draws people to you. Let it sit for a full week, and then use it to bring great happiness into your life.

Magnetite—Herculean Stone

The ancients were fascinated with magnetite and its mysterious workings. The great Pliny wrote that the first instance of the discovery of magnetite, commonly known as lodestone, happened when a Cretan shepherd was walking on Mount Ida with his flock, and the nails of his shoes clung to a rock in the field. The shepherd’s name was Magnes. Pliny also recorded the tale of Ptolemy, who wished to make an iron statue of a woman for a temple dedicated to his wife and his sister. The trick was that he wanted to use the new art of magnetism to suspend the statue in the air without any visible means of support! Unfortunately for us, Ptolemy and his architect, the Alexandrian Dinocrates, died before its completion. Otherwise, there might have been an eighth wonder of the world. Lodestone, the polarized version of magnetite, was held to be a protection against spells and other magical mischief. The ancients also believed that a small piece of lodestone beneath the pillow would be a testimony to virtue. Alexander the Great gave his soldiers lodestone to defend against unseen evil spirits.
