Celebrating the season of the sun is best done outdoors in the glory
of nature’s full bloom. If you have a forest nearby or a favorite
grove of trees, plan to picnic and share this rite of passage with your
spiritual circle. Covens often have a favorite spot. All the better if a
great oak is growing there, the tree most sacred to Druids. Gather
the tribe and bring brightly colored ribbons and indelible markers.
Form the circle by holding hands, then point to east, south, north
and west chanting:
We hold the wisdom of the sun,
We see the beauty of our earth.
To the universe that gives us life, we return the gift.
Deepest peace to all,
And we are all one. Blessed be.
Each member of the circle should speak their wish for the world,
themselves or loved ones and write it on a ribbon. One by one,
tie your ribbon to a tree. Each flutter of the wind will spread your
well-wishes.
Light candles and incense and dab the jasmine and essential oils
above your heart. Speak aloud:
I light the flame,
I fan the flame,
Each candle I burn is a wish.
My lust will never wane.
I desire and I will be desired.
Harm to none, so mote it be.
Another lucky charm for solvency is to take seven tiny turquoise
stones and put them on your windowsill during a full moon for
seven hours. Then pick up the stones, and while holding them in
the palm of your hand, speak this wish-spell:
Luck be quick, luck be kind.
And by lucky seven, good luck will be mine.
Carry these lucky stones with you in a bright blue bag and be on the
lookout for blessings to shower down upon you. You might receive
a gift, win free services, or literally find money in your path.
Bluebirds are so famous they have given their name to the bluebird
of happiness. The robin has been associated with the same signs
of cheerfulness and joy. Seeing a bluebird or robin, you should
immediately make a wish: it must be something unselfish, and
not dependent on anyone else. As the bird flies off, set your wish
ascending. Wish hard for steadily increasing happiness and release
from strains. Whether a bluebird or a robin, if you see the bird
again with a few days in exactly the same place, your wish will
certainly be granted.
Here are some more magical wings and prayers:
Crow feathers: These indicate loss and mourning. Try not to be
frightened but look at them as indicators of the cycles of life, death,
and rebirth.
Hummingbird feathers: These bring joy, beauty, and bliss. Take
time out to have a good time and to share with the people you love.
Swan feathers: These are the sign of grace. As swans mate for life,
a swan feather can also mean a soul mate or good relationship is on
the horizon.
Yellowhammer feathers: These are the symbol for hearth and
home. Seeing a yellowhammer feather in your path means you will
have a happy new home.
Magpie feathers: These are just plain good medicine for any kind
of illness. Magpies bring purification.
